So they're saying we have too many immigrants from Europe but they're all allowed to stay?

Re: In/Out Referendum.
Seriously, given the change & nature of how the EU has progressed anyone trying blocking a vote on the issue is a disgrace.

Labour's stance isn't about leadership , for whatever reason they're shit scared.

If they're that confident about how great the EU is for us all then they shouldn't be scared to put this to bed for another 40/50 years at least, if not forever.

They should win a "Stay in" vote hands down , but the idea that none of us should have the opportunity to vote on the basis of what we don't know what's good for us is frankly shameful. It's not just labour is it there are posters on this site that would happily deny the plebs & uneducated the vote for that very reason.

It's a bit like Cameron denying the Scots the vote on independence.

It's frankly an untenable position.

Personally, I'm likely to vote to say in & think the overall vote would go that way as well, but denying a referendum on the issue is a joke.

Re: In/Out Referendum.
Yes Russ, we know their stance but know nothing about what they would actually do if given the power, even UKIP, all we know is they are in, out or will have a referendum.

None of them will elaborate, Cameron has suggested a few ideas that I like, basically don't make it attractive to come here unless you can support yourself, offer no support, which is a great start, but is this possible without changing our welfare system as all EU citizens have the same rights as nationals.
He is also being elusive on whether he can actually change our terms or if this is a complete non starter as many inc Farage have suggested?

For me the best thing to do is either renegotiate our deal or completely overhaul the benefit and welfare system (which will take yeras) and then offer a referendum once all the pros and cons have been explained PROPERLY.

I think the suggestion here is that if you want to stop mass uncontrolled immigration you must be a racist xenophobic little Englander.

Re: In/Out Referendum.

As far as I Know that isn't their position. Their position is that they want the power to control migration and that they can't do that whilst in the EU. They have also clearly said that anyone still here can stay. You're just making up things, and that doesn't do your side much good to a wavering voter like me.

so a party which says we have too many immigrants from the eu will let them all stay?

So After8,
We wouldn't allow any foreigners to work in the UK if we left?. Have we or any other EU country had such a policy?.

Good post. It is worrying about the lack of detail being given if we are IN or of we are OUT.

But, at least Cameron has broached it and has put it on the table. Labour are frightened to death of the subject as it stains the bloke you mentioned also. Ol' Luciphers child Blair.

They've rolled that cunt out today as you say. Saying that for the Tories to be concentrating on the EU referendum at such an important time foer the country is basically negligent. The economy, NHS and other closer to hone issues need addrassing first.

I liked a female Tory MP's response when she said have Labour not thought that we are confident enough to deal with the referendum as we have the other issues in hand.

Labour are scared to death of it and won't broach the subject. Blair's reasons for it are just fucking bullshit. It's what the British people want and so Cameron has put it out there.

Even UKIP are pretty quiet on it now.

How does leaving the EU prevent us from making a law stating that any EU migrants who settled before a certain date have leave to remain?

You're just scaremongering, and it doesn't even make sense.
